(PR) Tommy Keene, the critically acclaimed power-pop pioneer, is set to release his first solo album in nearly three years, In The Late Bright, on Feb. 17 via Second Motion Records. The 11-track album, co-produced by Keene and R. Walt Vincent (Pete Yorn, James Blunt), was recorded in Keene's Los Angeles home earlier this year and features a wide range of songs from the rollicking opener, "Late Bright," to his first recorded instrumental ("Elevated") and the wistful "Save This Harmony." Keene, a DC-area native whose resume is littered with cred-building milestone after milestone, released his solo debut Strange Alliance in 1982. However, it was a six-song EP (Places That Are Gone, 1984) that brought him national attention, landing him atop the venerable Village Voice Pazz & Jop critic's poll. Since that time, Keene has won numerous fans and accolades and shaped modern power-pop. Keene has also become an in demand player, touring and recording with Paul Westerberg and Robert Pollard. His most recent release, Blues and Boogie Shoes, was a duet with Pollard, dubbing the outfit the Keene Brothers. In The Late Bright marks Keene's eight full-length album and his first for newly-founded Second Motion Records. Second Motion Records is a full service record label and part of Second Motion Entertainment, Inc based in Chapel Hill, N.C. Second Motion Records is distributed exclusively by Redeye Distribution in the United States and Outside Music in Canada. In The Late Bright track listing 1. Late Bright 2.
