(PR) The Wailers, featuring Los Angeles-based singer Elan Atias, continue to bring their positively-charged reggae to American audiences with several dates this summer. "It's an honor singing for the band, but I don't look at it as stepping into anyone's shoes," says Elan. "I'm just trying to keep the message of the Wailers' music alive, that we are all united under music."
Formed in Jamaica in 1968, The Wailers are the most popular reggae group of all time, and have sold over 250 million albums and played to an estimated 24 million people around the world. Fans in attendance at these upcoming Wailers dates can expect to hear many of their favorites, such as Natty Dread, No Woman No Cry, Buffalo Soldier, Exodus, War, Stir It Up and One Love, alongside more recent work.
The band are also in the process of recording a new album of original material, featuring some of the biggest names in modern music, which is scheduled for a late summer release. "We definitely want to move forward," Elan says. "There hasn't been an original Wailers song since 1981, so this album will be all new tracks incorporating music from some old unreleased tapes we found not too long ago in Jamaica."
