Mandragora Scream's Again

06/23/2008
.
(MMP) Metal Mind Productions will re-release Mandragora Scream's debut album "Fairy Tales From Hell's Caves" and the follow-up "A Whisper Of Dew" which are the mandatory releases for any fans of modern gothic rock.

Mandragora Scream is without question one of the most prominent groups on the contemporary gothic rock/dark wave scene. Their amazing releases include all the best elements of the genre, resulting in unforgettable musical experiences that touch the deepest parts of the soul.

"Fairy Tales From Hell's Caves" (2001) was a concept album, telling the story of Virgil, who descends all the way down to the Dantean Hell, where he meets a mysterious vampire fairy. Presented in a form slightly similar to a Gothic opera, the album managed to combine metal heaviness with a sublime and delicate mood, allowing all imagination to break loose. The atmospheric keyboard passages and melodramatic vocals by Morgan Lacroix and Terry Horn brought a truly enchanting mixture, full of beauty and passion. Some reviewers called this album a middle ground between Cradle of Filth and The Cranberries (!), while others praised it for its unique atmosphere. Mandragora Scream's debut LP to this day remains a dazzling release, perfectly capturing the essence of gothic rock.

In 2002 the band returned with their second full-length album "A Whisper Of Dew". This time Morgan's lyrics were inspired by a vampire story written by Julio Angel Olivares Merino, a Spanish horror-gothic literature writer and philosophy teacher at the Universidad De Jaen. Adding more dark-wave elements to their music, Mandragora Scream managed to strengthen the gloomy atmosphere that was present on their debut and make it even more disturbing on "A Whisper Of Dew". Reviewers tried to put the band in the same category with Epica, Within Temptation and Lacuna Coil, but most of them quickly realized how original the group's music really is.

Mandragora Scream perfectly combines delicate beauty with a dark and disturbing atmosphere, set by Morgan Lecroix's amazing voice. If you're looking for a place to set your imagination free – this is it. With these exclusive re-issues of "Fairy Tales From Hell's Caves" and "A Whisper Of Dew" you will find yourself in a world of infinite beauty, clothed in joy, sorrow and melancholy… Both titles will be available in a new digipak edition limited to 2000 copies. The release date is set on 21st July 2008 in Europe and 2nd September 2008 in USA (via MVD).
