Peter Gabriel Catches Dengue Fever

06/12/2008
.
(PR) Peter Gabriel's Real World Records today announced that they have licensed Venus On Earth, the latest release from Los Angeles-based Cambodian rock band Dengue Fever from M80 Music.

Venus on Earth is Dengue Fever's third full-length record and was released Tuesday in Europe and is available in all territories outside the United States and Canada. The Real World version of Venus will feature a previously unreleased live radio track of "One Thousand Tears of a Tarantula", recorded March 3 at World Café from National Public Radio in Philadelphia.

"We have Dengue Fever coming out on Real World Records outside the USA – it's really cool stuff with a small Cambodian singer and big American guys behind!" said Real World Records Founder and Musician Peter Gabriel. "They're California-based but have taken '60's Cambodian pop as their main source of inspiration and it's done with style. It's spirited, impassioned."

Fresh on the heels of Dengue Fever's first live dates in England and Holland just a few weeks ago, the band also announced today that they will headline the Institute of Contemporary Arts aka I.C.A (http://www.ica.org.uk/) in London on November 20. Press coverage from The Guardian ("A band to watch"), Time Out London, Metro London ("…you can imagine Tarantino's gangsters going gaga over this") surrounding their most recent dates demanded another headline slot. Tickets can be purchased here: http://www.artistticket.com/link/?s=dengue+fever
