(PR) John Joseph and independent publishing house PUNKHOuse will celebrate the release of Joseph's autobiography The Evolution of a Cro-Magnon through Last Gasp Distribution on next Thursday, June 19 at The Delancey Bar, located at 168 Delancey Street between in Clinton and Attorney in New York City. The Evolution of a Cro-Magnon chronicles the remarkable life of John "Bloodclot" Joseph, from a childhood spent alternately in hellish foster homes, juvenile detention and on the street to his early adulthood in the Navy and as the AWOL frontman for New York Hardcore legends the Cro-Mags through a spiral of crime, addiction and near madness to his ultimate spiritual and personal enlightenment and redemption.
Doors will open at 8 p.m., with Joseph reading from the book at 9 p.m., doing a book signing at 10 p.m., then concluding the festivities with a musical performance by Joseph featuring Cro-Mags drummer Mackie and other guest musicians. A $5 donation at the door will benefit Food Relief for the Homeless.
Since it's initial release via the independent Punkhouse.org, the book has garnered widespread and diverse acclaim including a VILLAGE VOICE cover story and a feature interview in VICE magazine. More recently the book became available on Amazon.com and at Barnes & Noble.
