(PR) Luke Doucet's 'Blood's Too Rich' (Six Shooter, 6.24) is a sonic diary of encounters with interesting drifters and ne'er-do-wells, but the title track "Blood's Too Rich" takes a closer look at those in his own family tree. "In Canada, sometimes we musicians mock ourselves by noting that we are too famous for the subway--too poor for a cab. The song also recognizes that we don't choose as much about ourselves as we think we can. "Much of who we are is encoded in our DNA and maybe we should accept that. The cult of self help lurks in the shadows but maybe serves to make us more unhappy?" - Listen to "Blood's Too Rich"
