Night In Gales Reissues

07/15/2008
.
(MMP) Three Night In Gales albums are getting the reissue treatment. All three are digitally remastered using 24-Bit process on golden disc and limited to numerated 2000 copies. The release date is scheduled for 18th August 2008 in Europe and 30th September 2008 in USA (via MVD).

Back in the mid 90's, the Gothenburg school of metal clearly dominated the scene, spawning dozens of bands influenced by the Swedish style. Night In Gales emerged right in the middle of the movement and it soon became clear that this young group was a breath of fresh air among other In Flames-wannabes.

The German five-piece quickly proved that melodic death metal could be played outside Sweden with the very same power and intensity. Now, with the exclusive re-releases of their most memorable works – "Towards the Twilight", "Thunderbeast" and "Nailwork" – Night In Gales return in all their glory to once again prove their worth on the melodic death metal scene.

"Towards the Twilight", Night In Gales' debut album, was released at the beginning of 1997. The album delivered a prime amount of melodic death metal, with a slight NWOBHM influence. Compared to the likes of At The Gates, early In Flames and Slaughter of the Soul, the LP paid unquestionable homage to the Swedish school of metal, in the same time introducing a handful of original ideas. Although the material was only 37 minutes long, it perfectly managed to capture the violent nature of death metal and confront it with delicate acoustic guitar sounds found throughout the album. "Towards the Twilight" also stood out because of the extremely poetic lyrics, clearly influenced by the works of Lord Byron. With their debut offering, Night In Gales jumped right into the top of German melodic death metal bands, sweeping away the competition. New digipak edition includes 6 bonus tracks taken from the "Sylphlike" EP.

The band's second album, "Thunderbeast", released in 1998, introduced much more variety in the compositions. The group's music became more melodic, but still remained true to its death metal roots - just listen to the double guitar work in tracks such as the opening "Intruder", "Perihelion" and "Blackfleshed". "Thunderbeast" was another big success for the band, allowing them to play two European tours with In Flames and Dismember, a couple of mini-tours alongside Hypocrisy, Death and Cradle of Filth, as well as to perform at such festivals as Wacken and Summer Breeze Open Air. New digipak edition includes 2 bonus tracks.

"Nailwork", Night In Gales' third album, was a definite step forward for the band's style. For the first time Goosses started using clean vocals, adding even more range into his repertoire. The album was mixed by famous producer Harris Johns, who previously worked with such acts as Kreator, Sodom, Therion and Helloween. The definite highlight of the album was the surprising cover version of "Black Velvet" by Allanah Myles. The album featured also some great guest appearances - the first Night In Gales singer Christian Mόller as well as Dew-Scented's Leffe Jensen did some sicko screams, while old friend Ozan Sahinbas laid down some crazy lead guitar tracks and finally Harris himself did some backing choirs. After all "Nailwork" is indeed the most modern, morbid and freaky record that was ever made by Night In Gales! New digipak edition includes 1 bonus.

Are three titles are digitally remastered using 24-Bit process on golden disc and limited to numerated 2000 copies. The release date is scheduled for 18th August 2008 in Europe and 30th September 2008 in USA (via MVD).
