Metalmania Festival 2009 Changes Venues

12/16/2008
.
(PR) The 23rd edition of the Metalmania Festival, which was to take place on the 7th March 2009 at the Spodek Hall in Katowice, will eventually not happen due to a major renovation works at the venue - Spodek will be closed for almost 6 months from January 1st, 2009.

However, to keep up the tradition of the festival, Metal Mind Productions will organize Metalmania Fest 2009. The date remains the same but the venue changes to a smaller place - Stodola Club in Warsaw.

The bands confirmed so far are: Soulfly, Exodus, Overkill and Heaven Shall Burn. Two special guests to be confirmed soon!

The Metalmania Festival has a long and great history. Running for over 20 years, it has become the biggest and the most important metal festival in Poland and Czech Republic. In the past, the Festival hosted over 300 artists from all around the world! The previous edition (8th March 2008) gathered on one stage such great bands as Vader, Artillery, Immolation, Flotsam and Jetsam, Satyricon, Primordial, Dillinger Escape Plan, Overkill, Megadeth, Marduk and Overkill, to name a few. Each edition is very well documented, as the show in Katowice is recorded and released as a DVD+CD compilation. “Metalmania 2008” DVD is set to be released on 26th January 2009 in Europe / 10th March 2009 in USA (via MVD). The DVD includes the best excerpts of the bands' charismatic performances as well as a fantastic bonus video material!
