(PR) The Academy Is have announced details of their upcoming North American co-headline tour. Dubbed "Bill & Trav's Bogus Journey Tour," the multi-artist bill also featuring We The Kings, Carolina Liar, and Hey Monday will hit the road on October 1st at Charlotte, North Carolina's Amos' Southend, and then travel the continent through late-November. Among the schedule's highlights is an eagerly awaited date at the Chicago-based band's hometown House of Blues, set for November 6th. Presale tickets for "Bill & Trav's Bogus Journey Tour" will be offered to TAI fanclub members beginning on tomorrow, August 19th, at 3 pm in each time zone; additional presale tickets will be available the next day via the band's www.theacademyis.com. All remaining tickets will then go on sale to the general public on Saturday, August 23rd.
The tour sees The Academy Is
celebrating the release of their third album, "Fast Times At Barrington High," which is in stores today.
The collection produced by Sam Hollander and Dave Katz (Gym Class Heroes, Metro Station) in New York City features the first single, "About A Girl," now impacting at Alternative, Triple A, and Top 40 radio outlets nationwide, with its companion video premiering the week of September 22nd. The band's viral video for "Summer Hair = Forever Young" will receive a "First Look" on MTV's TRL this Thursday, August 21st.
Having just wrapped their summer co-headlining the Vans Warped Tour, The Academy Is
will next hit Australia and New Zealand for a long-awaited series of late-August dates with labelmates Panic At The Disco and Cobra Starship. From there, the band heads to Japan for a pair of Decaydance Fest shows alongside Cobra Starship, The Cab, and The Hush Sound. In September, The Academy Is
will cross the Atlantic for a number of UK dates with We The Kings and The Maine.
