(PR) Jeff Cook, former vocalist, lead guitarist and fiddle extraordinaire for the Supergroup Alabama, is scheduled to perform with his band the Allstar Goodtime Band, Saturday, August 16th at 7:00 p.m. at Guntersville Civitan Park in Guntersville, Alabama.Jeff has received over 150 industry awards as a member of Alabama including 8 CMA honors for Entertainer of the Year, 2 Grammys, 2 People's Choice Awards and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. In 2001, he was named Guitarist of the Year by the Gibson Guitar Company.
In November 2005, Jeff and his bandmates received Country music's highest honor, being inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame. Alabama is one of the 20 best-selling acts of all time. In the U.S. alone, they have sold more albums than Elvis and The Beatles combined.
Now with the Allstar Goodtime Band (AGB), Jeff is back on stage with a rejuvenated enthusiasm for performing. The band features an 8 piece group consisting of a 3 piece horn section and standard band with Jeff in the lead. He is singing 25 years of hits plus country, soul and rock 'n roll. Jeff also owns his own state-of-the-art digital sound studio located atop Lookout Mountain in Fort Payne, Alabama.
Another important performance featuring Jeff will take place during the Republican National Convention in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He will be performing with Mike Hucakbee's band Capitol Offense on September 2 in support of John McCain.
"I was asked by Mike Huckabee, who has been a friend of mine for about eight years now, to come and I was very honored to have this opportunity," Jeff stated. "I think it is a great time to not only focus on the political side of things but to also focus on the music, something we all love."
The Jeff Cook Day concert is being held in association with the Guntersville Professional Firefighters Muscular Dystrophy Association Drive. The concert begins @ 7:00 p.m., August 16th. The featured opening act is Ken Randolph.
