Mariah Carries The Charts

(antiMusic) Mariah Carey carried the day by not only having the biggest sales week of the year but the biggest of her career after her new album, "E=MC2," sold 463,000 copies in the U.S. to debut atop the Billboard 200 chart. Back in February Jack Jackson set the first week sales record with sales of 375,000 copies of his latest "Sleep Through the Static." While it was a big high this past week for Mariah, last week's No 1 took a 54% nosedive. Leona Lewis' "Spirit" dropped to No 2 with sales of 95,000 copies this past week. Tween fever is still high as the Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus: The Best of Both Worlds Concert sold 47,000 units to snag the No 3 spot. Lady Antebellum wasn't far behind with sales of 43,000 to claim No 4. Now 27 rounded out the top 5 with 39,000 units sold. So in other words, the charts weren't very rockin' this week as the fans got popped instead.
