Coldplay To Shortchange Fans on New CD

09/11/07
.
(PR) Prospekt has struck again. For non-Coldplay fans, Prospekt is the signature being used on the band's online journals. This time Prospekt offers up some details on the band's upcoming album including some likely song titles, and more importantly that fans will only get nine songs and album under 45 minutes in length.

The blog was dated last week but the official Myspace didn't make mention of it until Monday. It says that the band have returned to the studio to resume work on the new album but also says "The plan has always been to make a short record. No more than 42 minutes. 9 songs (give or take)."

That doesn't mean that they are only recording nine songs. The journals says that the band will release at least two songs independant of the album. "Expect a short, concise record with no fat and at least two top-division tracks released independently"

Prospekt seems to disagree with some of the "non musician" plans by the band, especially with leaving off great songs because they don't fit. He writes, "my feeling is that album should be made up the nine best recordings. If that means eight thrash metal tracks and one ballad then so be it."

A list of songs are also given, a mid a few redacted entries these titles appear "Lost!", "Cemeteries Of London", "Violet Hill". "Poppy Fields", "42", "Yes!", "Leftrightleftrightleft" and "Rainy Day".

So the bottom line is if you want a full album's worth of music it will cost you more because you'll have to buy the album plus the two singles.
