Hank Williams Jr. Gets Hall of Fame Honor

(PR) Hank Williams Jr. will join his father among the ranks of the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame. The organization announced their five 2007 inductees on Monday. Williams will be inducted under the songwriter/artist category. Williams tied blue grassers Lester Flatt & Earl Scruggs in votes, so they will be inducted as well. "Being inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame is like winning Entertainer of the Year. Moments like this are very rare," Williams said in a statement. "What a thrill to be inducted, as my father was, and to continue the Williams legacy." The induction ceremony will take place on October 14th. Aside from Williams and Flatt & Scruggs, songwriters Bob DiPiero ("American Made") and Mac McAnally ("Old Flame") will also be inducted. And this year includes a special induction for gospel songwriter Dottie Rambo.
