(PR) Wilspro Management is proud to announce that one of their artists, The Kin will join thousands of musicians to help “fill the skies with music” at the Sixth Annual September Concert, a free musical festival that was launched in 2002 to bring communities together on the anniversary of the 9/11 tragedy. Organized by The September Concert Foundation, these free and open-to-public concerts will take place on 9/11/07 in 55 US cities and in over 50 cities worldwide. Comprised of Australian brothers ISAAC AND THORRY KOREN, The Kin will be perform at 12:45 pm in the famous Union Square (14th St. & Broadway), one of the 9 public parks where the September concerts will be held in New York City.
The 9/11 concerts will also take place in Texas, Oklahoma, California, Washington DC, Florida, and Wisconsin. Overseas concerts will be held various cities in the Czech Republic, France, Ghana, Italy, Morocco and the UK.
In April 2002, Haruko Smith founded The September Concert Foundation for the sole purpose of organizing an annual citywide music festival in New York, “in remembrance of September 11th and a celebration of our universal humanity.” The September Concert will be held at 9 public parks throughout Manhattan: Merchant’s Gate in Central Park, the NY Public Library, Herald Square, Greeley Square, Madison Square Park, Tompkins Square, Washington Square, City Hall Park, and Union Square. At 2 pm, there will be a city-wide sing-along of this year’s anthem “I Believe in Music” by Mac David. (Last year’s anthem was “All You Need is Love” by the Beatles.)
Peter McDowell and Lilli Weisz will produce all NYC concerts, except for the Herald Square concert, which is being produced by Macy’s this year. Among the endorsers of the Concert are Con Edison, Gristedes Supermarket, NYC & Company, and Chancellor Joel Klein of the New York City Department of Education.
