(antiMusic) This week Jessica Vale tells us about her favorite five tracks from her new CD Brand New Disease, which is in stores right now. Here is Jessica with today's song "Night in Sarajevo": Night in Sarajevo was inspired by my first trip to Bosnia. During that trip the city was still in hardcore recovery mode from the Balkan War.
It was my first experience in a worn torn city. Most of building were still standing, but completely gutted, shelled, and scorched black.
They fill in shell marks on the sidewalk with red wax, to mark where Bosnians were killed. Intense, to say the least. We went back and shot the video there last summer.
Happily Sarajevo today is an amazing town. I go back there every chance I get.
