(PR) A concise collection of John Mellencamp's best known and biggest hit songs has been aggregated on 20th Century Masters: The Best of John Mellencamp. Including seven Top 10 singles, the album will be released by UMe/Island Records on October 23rd. Universal Music Enterprises 20th Century Masters series, begun in the late 1990s now numbers over 250 albums by some of the best known artists of all time including The Who, Rod Stewart, Bob Marley, Hank Williams, James Brown, Bring Crosby, Louis Armstrong, Reba McIntire, Neil Diamond and The Four Tops. The series is the biggest selling single-artist brand in music history with over 38 million copies sold to date. Mellencamp's package features a new "eco-pack" CD package that is 100% recyclable inside and out.
Just after the album's release, Mellencamp and his band, joined by Los Lobos, will be embarking on a concert tour, bringing him to 18 states over a six week period. While he's going to include some new material in his set, it's a safe bet that many of the iconic songs included in his 20th Century Masters collection will be part of his performance.
