(antiMusic) This week's third most read story was the sad news that legendary metal DJ Tawn Mastrey pasted away on Tuesday. It really hit home here at the Day in Rock because I practically grew up, as did most southern California rockers, listening to Tawn on first KNAC and then Pirate Radio. She will be greatly missed. Here is the story from KNAC.com: Legendary rock dj and original member of the KNAC family, Tawn Mastrey died at 10:35pm (Central) on Tuesday, October 2 in Minneapolis at the age of 53. She had been suffering from the effects of Hepatitis C which she contracted as a child.
Funeral arrangements are pending and will be announced soon. All of us here at KNAC.COM send our heartfelt sympathy to her family. - read a tribute that KNAC posted
