(antiMusic) After only a week on the road Ne-Yo has been bounced from R.Kelly's Double Up tour (also features Keyshia Cole and J. Holiday). Both sides have a different take on what happened, Ne-Yo says it was because he was getting better reviewers than Kelly. The official statement from Ne-Yo was pretty PC, "I am disappointed that I won't be able to perform for my fans," he said in the statement issued by his label. "I love being on stage in front of fans because of the immediate feedback you get. You know right away if they are feeling you; and they were really feeling our show."
But he a bit more to add when asked by BET.com about what happened, "Let them [Jive] tell it, I was removed from the R. Kelly tour because of contractual agreements not being met, but that's absolutely false," Ne-Yo said. "I believe it was because the first few reviews of the show, people were talking more about my set than his and I don't think he liked that too much." Read R.Kelly's spokesperson's response - here
