(Contact Music) Rockers Los Lobos are helping to replace their old high school's fire-damaged roof after handing over a cheque for $195,000 (GBP97,500). The La Bamba band features graduates from Garfield High, and the group stepped into action when they heard the roof of the Los Angeles school's new sports auditorium had been destroyed by fire in May (07). The Latino hitmakers raised the money for the new roof by staging a benefit concert at Los Angeles' Universal Amphitheatre on 14 October (07). - more music news
