EMI Scam Fans?

(antiMusic) False advertising? You bet. Smart marketing? Probably. Away to anger fans? Definitely! Seems EMI was tricking Radiohead fans with text ads purchased on Google. Gigwise has the story: EMI have removed an online Radiohead advert which was accused of misleading users. The advert - which read, 'Radiohead - New Album 'Rainbow' now available as boxset' – had been appearing in the paid-for advertising section of Google when anyone searched for the band. Despite it's phrasing, the link did not lead the user to a website for the special discbox version of the band's new album, 'In Rainbows.' It instead opened a website where EMI offshoot Parlophone was selling a forthcoming box-set of the band's previous seven albums. - You gotta read their excuse for this.
