Rilo Kiley and Lupe Fiasco Woodies

11/08/07
.
(PR) Adding to an already stellar assemblage of emerging and established acts dominating the college music scene, today mtvU, MTV's 24-hour college network, announced that two more acclaimed performers have joined the 2007 "mtvU Woodie Awards" bill: Rilo Kiley and Lupe Fiasco.

Perennial college favorites Rilo Kiley are riding high off their recent breakout release "Under the Blacklight," and Lupe Fiasco is mounting an attack on the college charts with his brand new, red hot single, "Superstar." These acts will take the stage tonight at New York's Roseland Ballroom along with Tokyo Police Club, The Academy Is… and Spank Rock to deliver knockout live performances to a crowd packed full of college students and their favorite emerging artists.

Now in their fourth year, the "mtvU Woodie Awards" are the only awards honoring the music college students live their lives to – and a launching pad where the stars of tomorrow are anointed by the prophets of new music. Presenters and attendees on hand for the seminal college music event will include Annie Lennox, Q-Tip, Gym Class Heroes, Peter and Bjorn, Talib Kweli, Tom Delonge and Dave Kennedy of Angels & Airwaves, Guster, EL-P, Say Anything, Boys Like Girls, Motion City Soundtrack, Cage, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Kidz in the Hall and other surprise guests. - mtvu
