Stroke 9 Set June Release

(PR) Stroke 9, the band that made little black backpacks infamous back in the day, are back with more of their brand of sunny, slightly quirky, California rock music. Their new album, Last Of The International Playboys, is due out on June 5th. The album cover is decorated with drawings created by a friend of the band which pictures the band members jaunty garb. The record follows on the heels of Cafι Cuts, the acoustic collection the band released last year on Rock Ridge Music. Lead singer Luke Esterkyn is pleased that the band is operating in the indie arena via Rock Ridge Music the past few years and attributes the longevity of the band to our ability to adapt to a rapidly-changing business. We put out as much music as we can and give away our old stuff on MySpace. It is a scenario that works well for us. The first single from the album, The One, will go for radio adds in late May. The song, which was one of the last written for the album, features an anthemic, driving guitar sound.
