(PR) With summer just around the corner, it's time to hose off the barbecue, haul out the water skis, and dust off that old guitar. Better yet, slip on your flip-flops and scoot on down to catch one of the breeziest tours to hit the West Coast in years. Singers and songwriters, Glen Phillips (formerly of Toad The Wet Sprocket), Grant-Lee Phillips (formerly of Grant Lee Buffalo), The Watkins Family (Sean and Sara Watkins of Nickel Creek) and singer/fiddler Luke Bulla will be heading out together, serving up an eclectic batch of songs from their varied album catalogs.Kicking off June 5, the all-acoustic tour, dubbed VARIOUS & SUNDRY sprang from a collective friendship and rapport rooted in their home base of Southern California. The idea was hatched earlier this year, when Glen Phillips invited his musical friends to join him onstage as special guests at the Lobero Theatre in Santa Barbara. A musical community is something each of these artists has come to value It's a refreshing experience to get together with a bunch of people who respect each other and just play music for the pure joy of it, says Phillips. We all started doing this because we loved hanging out with friends and making noise, and it's a good thing to get back to that purity. In the past, Glen Phillips and Nickel Creek have recorded and performed together as Mutual Admiration Society, suggesting a kind of family tree. Tour dates are as follows: 6/5 - Santa Barbara, CA @ Soho 6/6 - Solana Beach, CA @ Belly UP Tavern 6/7 - Santa Ana, CA @ Galaxy Concert Theater 6/8 - West Hollywood, CA @ The Roxy 6/9 - San Francisco, CA @ Bimbo's 365 Club 6/10 - Sacramento, CA @ Crest Theater 6/12 - Petaluma, CA @ Mystic Theatre 6/13 - Tuolumne, CA @ Black Oak Casino 6/14 - Portland, OR @ Aladdin Theater 6/15 - Spokane, WA @ The Big Easy Concert 6/16 - Bellingham, WA @ The Nightlight 6/17 - Seattle, WA @ Nordstrom Hall
