(PR) President and principal owner of Soft Drive Records, Scott Weiland has set a release date for his first artist release at his newly minted indie record label. Los Angeles based band, The Actuals In Stitches, will mark the labels official launch when released on May 29.The ultra-literate combo, rounded out by guitarist and singer Ben Flanagan and brothers Jeremy and Aaron Bonsall on bass & drums, will be gassing up their 82 Econoline and heading out on the road. In early May, The Actual will be joining rock phenomenon Velvet Revolver on their upcoming tour. On August 10th, you can find The Actual on this years Warped Tour, which will take them from New York to their homebase of California.
The Actual are the smartest sounding band in punk-pop in a long time. The melodies and lyrics are brilliant, recalling echoes of Cheap Trick and The Clash, while still managing to sound refreshing and original. Max Bernstein and Ben Flanagan combine for a lead vocal attack that both engages and disarms, says Scott Weiland.
In Stitches, produced by Douglas Grean and Scott Weiland, is a fantastic 13-song juggernaut of smartypants power-punk that while sung from the heart is obviously carefully filtered through a serious set of brains (Max is the son of writer Nora Ephron and Watergate journalist Carl Bernstein the band's literary complexity is pretty unavoidable.)
