Mailbag: How the Southwest Was Lost

(PR) Rolling Stone asked today "SXSW: Is the Party Over?". The simple answer to that question is in the fact that RS is even covering the event. How is this a mailbag? Well, a few readers (ok, publicists and bands) asked us why we haven't provided more postings about the festival this year and the real answer is if we posted every press release related to SxSW that we receive everyday we wouldn't have enough room for real news. Yes, it has gotten that bad with an average of over 35 press releases a day for the past few weeks. So the once cool underground indie fest has been pitchforked into a corporate showcase. Time for something new. Sorry for those hunting more info on the fest, we tried to cover some of the more notable happenings there but were overwhelmed with amount of PR received about "everyones" showcase.
