Chuck Ragan Sets Solo CD Release

.
(PR) Chuck Ragan, the former front man for post-hardcore heavyweights Hot Water Music, will release his first studio solo album Feast or Famine on August 7. Fans received a glimpse into his solo work earlier in the year with a stripped-down live solo effort, Los Feliz. With Feast or Famine, Ragan delivers a fully-realized and compelling collection of 12 exceptional new songs. Feast Or Famine, at its core is undeniably a folk record in the most traditional sense of the term. The violin-driven Do You Pray is startlingly reminiscent Bruce Springsteen's Bob Seeger sessions; Don't Cry recalls Uncle Tupelo and the austere Symmetry is dripping with so much raw emotion that you can almost feel Ragan's presence next you as he delivers his lyrics with his trademark urgency and passion. Recorded last April, Feast or Famine includes collaborators Jolie Holland, James Fearnley (The Pogues), Matt Skiba (Alkaline Trio) as well as others and incorporates a broad range of instrumentation including banjo, harmonica, lap steel, organ, piano and percussion. Chuck Ragan will tour North America extensively this summer. Feast or Famine Track Listing: 1) The Boat 2) For Broken Ears 3) California Burritos 4) Geraldine 5) Its What You Will 6) Do You Pray 7) Dont Cry 8) Symmetry 9) Between the Lines 10) Hearts of Stone 11) The Grove 12) Do What You Do
