(antiMusic) Rejoice Tonic fans! You Wanted More and former Tonic frontman Emerson Hart is here to give it to you. We're celebrating the release of Emerson's new solo CD, 'Cigarettes and Gasoline,' this week and have asked him to pick his favorite five songs from the CD and tell us a little bit about each one. We kick off with the title track. Here is Emerson: This song is unlike any other song production-wise on the record (though closely related to "Friend To A Stranger" in sonic theme). It was the first one I wrote for the record and was a keystone that started a thread to finish all the songs. Dealing with my father's murder when I was ten was hard to put into words so I tried to paint a picture instead of telling a story in a literal sense. I repeat the lyric "Good Things" many times throughout the song as a reminder to myself of what you take away from losing someone. It is important to remember the good so the bad will always finish last in the memory tapes we play over and over again in our minds.
