(Virgin) A BEAUTIFUL LIE, the second album by Virgin Records' 30 SECONDS TO MARS has been certified platinum for U.S. sales of over a million copies, the label announced today. The album was released on August 30, 2005.30 SECONDS TO MARS has rarely been off the road, the radio, or the music video screen over the past year. "The Kill" has been on the national Modern Rock airplay chart for over 40 weeks and counting, following its #3 peak - giving 30 SECONDS TO MARS the longest run on the chart of any other band in 2006. Two tracks by the band, "The Kill," and the current single, "From Yesterday" are currently in the top 15 on the Modern Rock chart.
30 SECONDS TO MARS just wrapped up headlining the MTV2 $2 Bill "Welcome To The Universe" tour -- also dubbed the "Environmentour" for its conscientious use of earth-friendly alternatives. They will next headline the Rockstar Taste of Chaos tour which kicks off February 15th in Seattle. See dates below.
