(PR) Spain’s wildly adventurous Locomotive Records—distributed stateside by Ryko—will release on February 20, 2007, a triumvirate of metal supremacy including Goddess Of Desire's Awaken Pagan Gods, Holy Moses' The New Machine Of Liechtenstein and for Evanescence fans the unauthorized documentary du jour is Broken . On Awaken Pagan Gods, Dutch band Goddess Of Desire recreates the glory days of metal. Starting as a cover band in 1995, and creating a furor over its macabre-sexual stageshow, the band started writing its own material, despite being banned from performing at certain venues in Europe. Still, celebrated performances at such prestigious media-magnet festivals as Dynamo ’97 and Wacken Open-Air ’98 spurred a Metal Blade deal in ’99. A triple headliner bill with Tankard and Sodom cemented the band’s reputation as a touring monster. Now, with the release of Awaken Pagan Gods, the world will bow down and be subservient to its master…Goddess Of Desire! The New Machine Of Liechtenstein by German thrash machine Holy Moses demands to be heard again. It was received well upon its original release in 1992, and its chunky riffs and non-stop action has aged well. Now, complete with two new live bonus tracks, “SSP” and “Lost In The Maze,” that the band still to this day plays in concert, Holy Moses can reclaim the glory that goes with surviving since 1980 (despite enduring, Spinal Tap-style, dozens of different drummers). The new unauthorized documentary du jour is Broken, a behind-the-scenes look at a great band…Evanescence. Coming out of Little Rock, Arkansas, its Fallen debut has now sold over 14 million copies worldwide. Between the numerous interviews of people who knew the band back in the day and who know them now, the rare footage and the extra bonus features (discography/digital fan quiz), a portrait emerges that goes beyond the glitter, the hype and the headlines.
