(PR) Long Road Out of Eden has been certified triple platinum by the RIAA, on its first day of eligibility. Released October 30th, the album debuted at number one on The Billboard 200 Chart, with sales of 711,000 units, and has already become the 5th best selling album of 2007. Additionally, with U.S. sales at two million, it is the biggest selling Country album of the year, according to Nielsen SoundScan. With Long Road Out of Eden, the Eagles are the only artist in music history to score a number one album more than 35 years after releasing their debut record.Internationally, the album has sold in excess of 1.5 million albums and has topped the music charts in the UK, Australia, Greece, India, the Netherlands, New Zealand, and Norway. Long Road Out of Eden currently is #1 on Billboard’s European Top 100 Chart. Nine territories have already gone platinum (the UK and Australia are double-platinum) and fifteen more are gold.
In the Asia-Pacific Region, Long Road Out of Eden is the #1 bestseller for the 4th week, enjoying tremendous success on the Asian retail charts. In Hong Kong, India, and Malaysia the album has been #1 for four consecutive weeks, and has topped the retail charts in Singapore and Thailand four weeks in a row.
