(PR) Although slightly more than 6 months away, the 7th annual Forecastle Festival will be satiating audiences anticipation with Halfway To Forecastle taking place Saturday, January 26th at Headliners Music Hall, Louisville KY. All ticket proceeds will benefit Louisville BMX legend and FBM-owner Jimmy Levan, currently recovering from serious injuries sustained after a recent skate boarding accident in New Jersey. The lineup will include Band of Horses, Cass McCombs, Catfish Haven, How I Became The Bomb, Early Day Miners, Ferdinand Fox, Coltrane Motion, Jesse Jamz, and many more. Halfway To Forecastle has partnered with sponsors such as Havana Cola and Red Bull North America, who will provide an outdoor sports area, featuring skate ramps and regional athletes who have shared a ramp or two with Jimmy.
Originally announced in September, Forecastle founder and manager JK McKnight embraced the opportunity to turn the mini-festival into a benefit after hearing word of Levans accident. Family members and supporters are trying to raise $70,000 to assist with rehabilitation fees not covered by Levans insurance. McKnight hopes Halfway To Forecastle can raise up to $15,000 through ticket sales, merchandise, and silent auction activities.
Tickets go on sale Saturday, December 15th via Ticketweb, Ticketmaster, and ear X-tacy Records. 91.9 WFPK and the Band of Horses Fan Club are offering exclusive pre-sale tickets as early as next week. For complete lineup and ticket information, visit www.forecastlefest.com
