(PR) The Exies vocalist, guitarist, and songwriter Scott Stevens has been ordered off the road by doctors to avoid severely damaging his vocal chords. The singer began having difficulties during the groups current run with platinum-selling Texas rock band Drowning Pool in support of its recently released A Modern Way of Living With the Truth. Its their first album since 2004.Stevens has been battling throat problems since shortly after the beginning of the tour in Englewood, CO on August 12. After the Mechanicsburg, PA performance on Monday, Stevens realized he had to see a doctor. Yesterday he visited Dr. George Newsome, a local ear, nose, and throat specialist who said that Stevens vocals chords had the same consistency as hamburger meat and suggested the vocalist take a break to rest immediately before there is irreparable damage done.
Added Stevens, I really tried to hold out as long as I could but the doctor says my throat is toast and has to heal. Well definitely come back to these towns on a future tour so well see our fans out there real soon.
