(antiMusic) This week we have a real treat for you. One of the best songwriting bands of this generation, Collective Soul, is releasing their new album 'Afterwords' this week and we asked lead guitarist Joel Kosche to select his five favorite tracks from the CD and tell us a little bit about each one. (Ed checks in on a few tracks too!). Today we conclude with two songs. Joel tells us about "New Vibration" and Ed tells us about "Good Morning After All". Here is Joel with comments on "New Vibration": A great riff. That song has actually been around for awhile and almost made it on the "Youth" record. A fun song to play live.
And now Ed's tells us about "Good Morning After All": That one I wrote for my Mom. The strength she showed us during the time when we lost our father. You keep going. What keeps her going is her faith. 'You wake just to crawl/You stand just to fall/ But you say good morning after all.'
You can pick up 'Afterwords' at Target stores and iTunes now, plus see them on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on Friday (August 31). You can preview the entire CD - right here!
