(antiMusic) If you are going to put together a soundtrack made up of cover tunes for a Bob Dylan inspired film, you better be inspired with who you put on the album. It looks like the producers of the "I'm Not There" may have pulled off the impossible with assembling an impressive line-up of credible artists to tribute the legendary Dylan on the two-disc album. Sonic Youth, Sufjan Stevens, Eddie Vedder, Jeff Tweedy and John Doe are just some of the notables that have contributed tracks to the 30-track album which is set to hit stores on October 30th from Columbia Records. The film will hit theatres almost a month later on November 21st.
What about the man himself? Yes, a rare from Dylan recording from The Basement Tapes era, is also set to appear. In fact, this rarity acts as the title track to the film. According to Filter, "As with the film, the soundtrack will portray Dylan at various points in the career that gained such widespread fame and notoriety."
