BritBus Tour

04/19/07
.
(PR) The BBC America BritBus Tour will be invading the US from April 24th through June 18th, hitting 15 major markets for a series of two to four day events, all of which are free to the public and feature the latest and greatest in British music, product, television and entertainment. As the title sponsor of the Tour, BBC America is inviting all visitors who attend the BritBus events to board the bus and check out sneak previews of new summer shows on the network -shows that are “a little Brit different”. Consumers can also enter on-site for a chance to win amazing prizes such as a Triumph Bonneville motorcycle or a Gibson guitar.

With a top speed of 45mph (downhill), the vintage red, double-decker bus, complete with plasma screens, Kicker audio equipment, and a custom built mahogany bar, travels coast to coast carrying a stellar lineup of breaking UK artists, and entourage support from Triumph and Land Rover.

The talent is a classic mix that has existed since rock and roll first started criss-crossing the Atlantic – three UK groups influenced by three different genres of music.

The Crave - Poised for a US breakthrough, the four-piece group from Manchester brings a Foo Fighters- and Green Day-influenced big rock sound on their first tour of the States. Through a strong DIY mentality, nonstop touring, and their debut EP Bring It On (Panic Room) they have become popular in the UK.

Jyrojets - Jyrojets have toured the UK, Europe, and Russia, supporting their debut Limited Edition EP (Songphonic) and are climbing up the UK Indie charts. The five-piece group blends a heavy dose of Nirvana with Simon and Garfunkel harmonies, Beatles melodies, and plenty of attitude.

Julia Jones is the Welsh-born tour founder. Julia wrote her latest album Notes from the Road while on the Tour last year.

These emerging artists will perform at all BBC America BritBus Tour public events, to be held in high-profile downtown areas and feature cool exhibits, such as photography of iconic British artists by the legendary Mick Rock, contests, and product and cultural displays by Tour partners. The BBC America BritBus Tour will also feature events at top venues, including Virgin Megastore and British Invasion nights continue the celebration, bringing the party to popular local area pubs and clubs in select markets. Launch parties are held at area hotels amidst tea parties that put a cool spin on proper high tea.
