(PR) Long Island indie rockers The Blue Jackets are gearing up for the early summer release of their debut EP Shadows of the City. The seven song EP will be distributed nationwide through CD Baby and available online at iTunes, Insound and other outlets beginning June 5. The CD will also be offered for a limited time at duty-free shops in U.S. airports through a Jameson Irish Whiskey promotion.Shadows of the City pays homage to growing up outside of Manhattan. Were all from Long Island and familiar with being on the outside looking in, says Walkley. Its about the majestic NYC skyline overshadowing the everyday people in the burbs. thats what we grew up with. The Blue Jackets immediately found themselves at home on the radio when Matt Pinhead of MTV and Sirius Radio found himself with an advance copy of the EP. Entranced right off the bat with one of the title tracks intoxicating riffs, Matt has made the song Who Needs A DJ a regular spin on his radio show.
