Static-X week: Behind Cannibal

.
(Day in Rock) To continue our special Static-X week, we asked Wayne to tell us a little about his favorite five tracks from the new CD. He starts off today with "CANNIBAL". Here is Wayne: "This was the first song I wrote for the new album. I knew from the moment I finished the demo it would be the first song on the cd, and it really gave me a clear idea of what direction I wanted to explore for the rest of the songs. For Cannibal, I challenged myself to write an entire song with one guitar riff. This is how I often wrote songs for our first album. The guitar riff becomes hypnotic after a while and starts to blend seamlessly with all the electronic sounds. I had been talking to John 5 for some time about making some music together, so I invited him to play a solo on the song, and it's one of the craziest solos I've ever heard. If I had to pick one song that represents the band the best at this point in time it would be Cannibal." Listen to the song at the full story link and go pick up the brand new CD, which hit stores this week! Check back tomorrow for another song. - Click here for the Full Story
