(PR) Fans of multi-platinum bands Limp Bizkit and Nine Inch Nails will soon have something new to look forward to. Former lead guitarist for Limp Bizkit, Wes Borland has now returned to front BLACK LIGHT BURNS with Nine Inch Nails/A Perfect Circle drummer Josh Freese, Telefon Tel Aviv sound designer Josh Eustis and Nine Inch Nails guitarist Danny Lohner. Danny Lohner also produced the band’s debut album CRUEL MELODY which will be in-stores on June 5, on famed record producer Ross Robinson’s brand new upstart label I AM: WOLFPACK.CRUEL MELODY was originally going to be an esoteric, dirge-heavy solo project with a variety of singers, but as Borland started writing heavier material, he finally decided to take the reins behind the mike. From the post-Ramones surf rock freakout opener “Mesopotamia” to slow building confessional “I Have A Need,” to “Lie”, CRUEL MELODY is a 180 degree turn from Borland’s previous work. BLACK LIGHT BURNS’ first single “Lie” was the #1 most added single at active rock radio week ending 3/23/07 and looks ahead to touring this summer with new onstage persona for their maiden voyage, boasting a live band with guitarist Nick Annis (Seether), drummer Marshal Kirpatric (Today Is the Day, the Esoteric) and, for now, a laptop to wreak ambient havoc. BLACK LIGHT BURNS will make their first live debut at the NARM convention in Chicago on April 30th.
