Courtney Love is no longer America’s Most
Wanted as she surrendered herself to Los Angeles police on Friday afternoon.
An arrest warrant was issued for the singer on June 2nd on a felony assault
with a deadly weapon charge. On Friday, she booked, processed, and then
released on $55,000 bail.
Love faces up to four years in prison for
this latest charge. The charge stemmed from a criminal complaint filed
by Kristin King, a friend of Love's former manager/boyfriend, James Barber.
King claims that Love assaulted her with a bottle and metal flashlight
at Barber’s Los Angeles home "on or about" April 25. Barber is expected
to be called as a witness if this case goes to trial.
Love’s attorney dismissed the allegations
of assault, calling the charges “completely bogus”. Love is expected to
enter a plea of not guilty at her arraignment on July 9th.
