Limp Bizkit Sales Down, Way Down

Could it be that Limp Bizkit’s 15 minutes
are almost up? Looks at early sales projections for the group’s new album,
“Results May Vary”, seems to indicate just that.
According to a report from Blabbermouth.net,
early reports from national accounts show that Limp Bizkit’s new disc is
expected to sell around 350K it’s first week in stores. This is a significant
drop from the first week sales for the group’s 2000 release “Chocolate
Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water", which moved 1,054,511 copies
in it’s first week in U.S. stores and landed at No. 1 on Billboard’s album
charts. The projected sales of "Results" will also be about half
of what the group's 1999 "Significant Other" moved the first week in stores.
If these projections hold true then Limp
Bizkit will not debut at No. 1, or even No. 2. It looks like they will
be beat out by Outkast and Dave Matthews. According to the Blabbermouth
article, Outkast’s new double album is expected to sell 500K units this
week and Dave Matthews’ new solo CD “Some Devil” will most like tally sales
of 450K.
Nickelback also return to the stores this
week with their third U.S. release, “The Long Road”. If the projections
hold true at 200K expected sales, it looks like Nickelback’s latest effort
will actually have higher first week sales than their last album, “Silver
Side Up”, which sold 177,986 it’s first week on the charts and was bolstered
by the No. 1 radio hit, “How You Remind Me”.
