Brad Pitt Buys Rights To Film About Slain Journalist Daniel Pearl

Warner Bros., has purchased the rights to
Mariane Pearls memoir "A Mighty Heart: The Brave Life and Death of My
Husband Danny Pearl". Pearl was the Wall Street Journals South Asian bureau
chief who was kidnapped in murdered by Islamic radicals in Pakistan last
year. The story gets even more tragic with the fact that his wife was pregnant
with his son at the time of his murder.
Warner Bros., plans to make the film and
purchased the rights for Plan B Prods., the production company headed by
Brad Pitt, Jennifer Aniston and producer Brad Grey.
The 38-year-old journalist was kidnapped
in Karachi last January while he was on assignment investigating the Al
Qaeda terrorist network. His capturers released a brutal videotape of his
murder a few weeks later. At least one terrorist has been sentenced to
death for his role in the kidnapping / murder.
