Pam Anderson Clucking For KFC Boycott
10-16-03

.
Pamela Anderson, the queen of fake breast
has a bone to pick with KFC over their breasts and the chickens they come
from. Anderson is the latest Hollywood wacko to jump into the animal rights
crusade lead by PETA.
Anderson as a spokesbreast for PETA contends
that KFC chickens are tortured, subjecting the fine feathered soon to be
bucket fried friends to "cruelty and injustice". Interesting that was the
same claim one might have heard from those who paid to watch Pam Anderson’s
film “Barb Wire.”
Anderson faxed an angry protest letter
to priszm brandz, a company that owns a string of KFC franchises in Canada.
Their total fast-food holdings include not only KFC’s but these familiar
outlets; Pizza Hut, Taco Bell and Long John Silver’s restaurants. All told
they own more than 760 food establishments in Canada.
"If people knew how KFC treats chickens,
they'd never eat another drumstick," wrote Anderson in her letter calling
for a boycott of KFC.
"What KFC does to 750 million chickens
each year is not civilised or acceptable," she wrote. "I am calling for
a boycott of all KFC restaurants until my friends at PETA tell me that
you have agreed to be kinder in your practices."
Anderson and PETA contend that the animals
are mistreated by KFC. You can read their claims at this website kfccruelty.com.
You can read more about that battle with
a slant from the other direction in an article on the National
Review website and also the IFCNR.
And
here is a fun link detailing the ridiculous urban legend about KFC’s “Chickens”.
University
of New Hampshire’s take on the KFC chicken hoax.
Other celebs have joined in this fight
including Paul McCartney but it’s would be interesting to see what PETA
has to gain in their jihad against corporations and meats we eat from using
a spokesperson like Pam Anderson.
