Bruce Springsteen may be the richest blue
collar hero on earth. Springsteen, also known as The Boss, concluded his
world tour on October 4th with a final show at Shea Stadium in New York.
The tour which reunited The Boss with the
E Street Band brought in a staggering $172.7 million in 2003 from concerts
in North America, Europe and Australia. When you add the numbers of the
entire tour including dates from last year the gross reaches $221.5 million
from a total of 121 concerts.
Despite sluggish album sales, Springsteen
is still one of the biggest concert draws in the world, especially in his
home turf of New Jersey where he kicked off the U.S. leg of his tour with
an unprecedented 10 night engagement at Giants Stadium which he sold out
each night for a payday of $38.8 million.
