There may soon be another feature length movie
focusing on the life of one of the Sex Pistols. This time it will be based
on the groups lead singer John Lydon (a.k.a. Johnnie Rotten) and his autobiography
Rotten: No Irish, No Blacks, No Dogs.
According to NME.com the book is returning
to print a decade after it was first released because the Sex Pistols vocalist
is working with director Penelope Spheeris (Suburbia, Decline of Western
Civilization I & II, Waynes World) and the film production company
Panacea Entertainment on a possible film version of the book.
The book is scheduled for reissue in January
of 2004 and at this time there is little known about the film project and
how far along it is.
Critics and fan hailed the 1994 autobiography
as the definitive chronicle of the Sex Pistols filled not only with Lydons
accounts but also contributions from his bandmates Steve Jones and Paul
Cook, and others who were there.
When more information is known about the
film project, we will fill in the blanks.
