musicNEWS: Still Going: Nothing Outsells Outkast

Outkast will not easily give up their position at the top of the Billboard album charts. The duo hold on for the second consecutive week at number one with their latest, “Speakerboxxx/The Love Below,” which debuted in the top spot two weeks ago.

Although the second week sales of 234,000 is only about half of what they sold the first week, it was still more than enough to beat off the competition.

Da Band, the p.diddy protégés from the “Making the Band” TV series landed at No. 2 with sales of 204,000 units of their new one “Too Hot for TV.”

Music veteran Sting still has what it takes as he landed at No. 3 with his latest “Sacred Love”, which moved 194,000 units. He was followed closely by “Life for Rent”, the sophomore release from Dido, which sold 191,000 copies.

Dave Matthews solo debut “Some Devil” dropped from 2nd to 5th place having sold 154,000 units this past week. Limp Bizkit dropped down to 6th place with second week sales of 126,000 copies of their latest “Results May Vary”.

R.Kelly’s best of compilation “The R in R&B” dropped four spots to No. 8 with sales of 117,000 units and Canadian rockers Nickelback landed at No. 9 with sales of 102,000 copies of their latest “The Long Road”.
