The film also doubled the first weekend take for "Scary Movie 2", and even outsold the original “Scary Movie” which debuted with $42.3 million in July of 2000. The original film was a runaway success bringing in $157 million. 

A fourth installment is expected next Fall. 

“The Texas Chainsaw Massacre” remake came in at no. 2 with $14.7 million, followed closely by the new Cuba Gooding Jr. and Ed Harris film, “Radio” which brought in $14 million. 

 Meanwhile, Angelina Jolie's new film "Beyond Borders" was a bomb at the box office, grossing only $2 million.
