A jury has found that rapper C-Murder has
lived up to his name. A Louisiana jury returned a guilty verdict against
the rapper on charges of second-degree murder.
Because of the guilty verdict, C-murder,
real name Corey Miller, will received an automatic life sentence.
Millers family still stands by his claim
of innocence and plan to appeal the verdict. His father, Percy Miller Sr,
told reporters following the conviction, My son didnt do that.
Miller was convicted of killing Steve Thomas.
According to two prosecution witnesses Miller reportedly beat and then
shot Thomas outside of the Platinum Club in Harvey Louisiana, on Janaury
12, 2002.
Thomas was at the club participating in
an emcee battle, and an altercation broke out between him and Miller.
The defense brought forth several witnesses
that testified that Miller had not been involved in the incident; however,
their testimony was largely discredited when different witnesses gave different
descriptions of what Miller was actually wearing.
The victims father, Gorge Thomas, told
the press following the conviction that his son could now rest in peace.
Following the conviction, the Jefferson
Parish Assistant District Attorney Douglas W. Freese reportedly told members
of the press that were present, I believe the killer has been put where
he belongs."
Millers attorney reportedly avoided the
press following the verdict.
Miller is the younger brother of rap and
entertainment mogul Master P.
