John Lennon's handwritten lyrics to the song
"Nowhere Man" fetched almost a half a million dollars during an auction
at Christie's on Tuesday.
The winning bidder came up with $455,000
for the prized rarity. This was well beyond the expected sale price
of between $80,000 and $100,000.
The Lennon collectable wasn’t the only
big ticket item at the auction. Magician David Copperfield conjured
up $231,500 for the Best Director Oscar won by Michael Curtiz for the classic
film "Casablanca”.
