Child Star Jonathan Brandis Death Ruled A Suicide

Suicide has been ruled the official cause
of death of child star Jonathan Brandis who was found hanging from the
neck in his apartment on November 11th. Brandis was alive when his friend
found him and called paramedics. He was rushed to the hospital but he died
the next day.
The Los Angeles County Coroner's Office
confirmed Monday that the official cause of death was suicide, but the
reasons why Brandis wanted to take his own life are still unknown. He did
not leave a suicide note.
The 27-year-old actor was best known for
roles in the Steven Spielberg' sci-fi series "SeaQuest DSV" and the Rodney
Dangerfield film “Lady Bugs”, where he played a male soccer player who
dressed up as a girl to play in the team coached by Dangerfield’s character.
He began his acting career at the age of
6 with a recurring role on the daytime soup “One Life to Live”, within
the next few years he was cast in numerous commercials and guest starring
appearances on TV shows like “L.A. Law”, “Who's the Boss?” and “Murder,
She Wrote”.
His first big film role was in 1991 with
“The Neverending Story 2: The Next Chapter”, in which he starred. More
recently he had supporting parts in the Farrelly brother's comedy “Outside
Providence” and played along-side Bruce Willis and Colin Farrell in last
year’s WWII drama “Hart's War”.
