again this past week, making it the number one movie at the box office
bringing $21.1 million for the entire week.
Disney’s “Brother Bear” came in at number
two, grossing $18.5 million on Friday and Saturday.
“Scary Movie 3” will have some stiff competition
this week when another third installment hits theatres on Wednesday. The
third movie in the Matrix franchise, "The Matrix Revolutions," is expected
to have a huge opening. The second movie, “The Matrix Reloaded” took in
$91.8 million on its opening weekend last May.
However, in only two weeks “Scary Movie
3” has already made more money than its predecessor did during its entire
run. “Scary Movie 2” had a total theatrical gross of $71.3 million,
but part three has already made $78.6 million.
